We create gardens that completely take you away with wild sweeping colour, which require a light handed approach and allow nature to thrive

Our Team

Tom Eaglestone

I create gardens because I love it.

I firmly believe that gardens can shape a better future by bringing people somewhere where they can experience vibrant and immersive flora and fauna, feeling present, calm, and well.

Originally a gardener, I then went on to train professionally at Capel Manor. Following this I took on roles at historic and renowned gardens, then set up Eaglestone Gardens in 2007, winning the overall Design and Build category at the APL Awards in 2016.

I have had the good fortune to collaborate with some of the most well-known and inspirational designers working today. Whilst working at Arne Maynard Garden Design, I worked closely with Arne Maynard overseeing all designs and consultations as a Design Associate. On our travels I was incredibly inspired by the gardens and scenery of New York State & North Eastern America.

As an artist, I understand the value of a strong creative vision, influenced and inspired by natural surroundings and client personalities. I have a strong appreciation for the distinctive architecture and historical gardens of Bath, where I grew up.

My knowledge of plants is impressive and ever evolving. I am always learning by taking the opportunities offered to me like working with Derry Watkins at the Great Dixter Plant Fairs, and planting the first bulbs of Piet Oudolf's design at the Bruton Hauser & Wirth gardens.

I have management experience of large, sophisticated, intricate, and international gardens. I also have expertise in providing creative solutions for smaller gardens and phased garden spaces for longer-term projects.

I enjoy designing and creating gardens that completely take you away with wild sweeping colour, which require a light handed approach allowing nature to thrive, and which produce magical moments and memories.

Ailsa Eaglestone

As a Director of Eaglestone Gardens, you will often find me on site (usually the one covered in more mud and soil than everyone else)! I’ve always supported the business and took the plunge in 2025 to commit full-time.

I love gardening and was inspired by my mum, dad and papa (who were all vegetable growers). I love spending time at our allotment at Monksdale where I always grow sweet pea, potatoes and beetroot.

Many years ago I ran an eco art company. We created a vibrant and sculptural wildlife space at Platt Fields Park, Manchester which featured a grass sofa, a planted up morris minor, abundant herb gardens and a cob pizza oven.

Experience includes twenty years in the charity sector - in creative wellbeing production, project management and fundraising.

Favourite flowers: zinnias, blue cornflowers, sea pink thrift and black eyed susans.

Favourite plants: Physalis alkekengi var. franchetii - or Chinese lantern, and I just love honeysuckle and rose hips. Cotoneaster - love sitting by this to see the swarms of bees and insects.

Favourite trees: I have always been drawn to magnolia and willow trees. I love the crab apple in our garden as the magpie strips the bark and the sparrows and black caps also love it.

We have collaborated with:

Seed Landscapes - built two of their designs

Hauser & Wirth Museum - helped plant 70,000 bulbs across five days

Bee Bold Banes - installed gabion habitats and benches across Bath & Keynsham

Bath City Farm - built insect hotels with reclaimed materials from site

We have featured in:
